19 August 2024 – Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), CENTRESTAGE, Asia’s annual fashion extravaganza, returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 4 to 7 September (Wednesday to Saturday). This year’s event will see the catwalks light up with the latest collections from 250 brands and emerging talents from 17 countries and regions. The HKTDC is welcoming buyers from around the globe to explore unique procurement opportunities and will also open the doors to the public free of charge over the four-day period. This year’s CENTRESTAGE will further cement Hong Kong’s status as Asia’s fashion capital and a flourishing hub for cultural exchange and international trade.
The grand opening fashion show, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, will feature the creations of visionary Hong Kong designer Robert Wun, the first local designer to be showcased at the prestigious Paris Haute Couture Week. He will unveil his “Home Coming” show on 3 September at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, marking a triumphant return to his roots.
The HKTDC will host a press conference tomorrow at which Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, will unveil details of this year’s CENTRESTAGE, including CENTRESTAGE ELITES, the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show, the FASHIONALLY Collection Show & Presentation, and the Young Designers’ Contest (YDC) showcase. Additionally, Katherine Fang, Chairman of the HKTDC Garment Advisory Committee, will introduce other captivating CENTRESTAGE events; Corin Wilson, Director, Trade & Investment, British Consulate-General Hong Kong, will discuss the UK’s innovative circular fashion trends; and Ashworth CEO William Fu will look at the market potential and emerging trends in athleisure. The media event will also feature Samantha Ko, Sofiee Ng and Will Or, who will present new collections from brands including Roksanda, Ashworth, DEMO and Angus Tsui.
