The Global Report on Teachers 2023, which was completed with the foundation’s support, revealed alarming trends, including the erosion of the teaching profession and rising attrition rates due to various factors, signaling serious repercussions for sustainable development. It is imperative to continue collaboration in this area and effectively expand solution-oriented programs to make teaching both financially rewarding and intellectually stimulating.”
For his part, Mr. Carlos Vargas praised the efforts of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences in supporting education and its contributions to enhancing teaching excellence and nurturing talented and innovative students. He noted that the foundation’s sponsorship of the Global Report on Teachers 2023 played a pivotal role in providing a comprehensive assessment of the current state of teachers, shedding light on urgent issues that require immediate intervention to prevent further deterioration. He further stated: “The foundation’s initiative to support the Global Report on Teachers 2030 is highly welcomed and appreciated, as it will significantly empower the task force to develop a roadmap for governments and relevant institutions. This will help position teaching as a profession with the best possible conditions to attract and retain high-quality educators.”
