More than 70,000 children around the world have been able to take advantage of Real Madrid Foundation’s e-learning platform, Sport Values Academy TV, which has provided young people with access to education and entertainment during the COVID-19 pandemic, beloved ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas revealed at Expo 2020 Dubai.
As General Director of the Foundation, Casillas visited the Spain Pavilion on the International Day of Education on Monday to promote Real Madrid’s work and success with the digital learning platform to date.
Developed by Interactvty, with the support of adidas, Sport Values Academy TV takes students through modules such as ethics in sport and health, and can be accessed across all devices. The platform holds more than 600 hours’ worth of content.
Commenting on the launch of Sport Values Academy TV, the man fondly known as ‘San Iker’ (Saint Iker), Casillas said: “Education is the key to changing the future. That is the reason why Real Madrid Foundation developed this platform to innovate in the middle of the pandemic. Our goal is to improve the lives of children in 80 countries that have been impacted by the pandemic. Children need to learn and play. At Real Madrid Foundation we believe in the right to sport for all, whatever the circumstances, because sport can change lives.
