DUBAI, 06 January 2021 – Due to popular demand, little ones can continue to discover the world in one place, with the kids’ camps at Expo 2020 Dubai being extended to the end of the event’s epic run, with the Expo Weekend Camp now running every Saturday and Sunday from 8 January until 27 March.
Kids from the age of six to 12 are entitled to the complimentary three-hour drop-and-play Expo Weekend Camp. With 192 Country Pavilions to explore, and guided tours to ensure they enjoy the best edutainment on offer, weekends are about to get a lot more fun. Parents can make the most of the drop-and-go service by exploring the site at their own pace, or simply enjoying a relaxing coffee or a bite to eat at one of Expo’s numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
From enjoying the colours, culture and South East Asian charm at the Thailand Pavilion – dubbed ‘Miracle of Smiles Pavilion’ – to being immersed in nature at the rainforest-inspired Singapore Pavilion or at the Spain Pavilion’s forest of intelligence, children will be engaged and enthralled every step of the way.
Other pavilions proving to be popular with the younger generation include the psychedelic Pakistan Pavilion which escorts visitors through the country’s hidden treasures, the Egypt Pavilion with its instantly recognisable replica of King Tutankhamun’s golden mask, the Australia Pavilion where kids will be welcomed by the friendly koala mascot, the Belgium Pavilion where visitors have the chance to become cartoon characters as they encounter the country’s most popular comics, and the China Pavilion with its dazzling digital light show on the pavilion’s façade.
The Kids Winter Festival at Expo 2020’s Festival Garden, meanwhile, runs until 9 January, with the Vegan Food Festival taking over the garden located at Wadi Avenue, Jubilee Park, from 14 January. All kids’ activities stay the same, meaning that families can make the most of the bouncy castles, inflatable park, treasure hunts, face painting, sporting activities, DJs and musicians while discovering delicious vegan options from the food trucks and drinks carts.
The Expo Weekend Camp is available every Saturday and Sunday from 8 January until 27 March at 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, and 1800 GST. The Vegan Food Festival takes place at Festival Garden every day from 14 to 30 January from 1200-2000 GST. Both the Weekend Camp and Vegan Food Festival are complimentary for all Expo 2020 ticket holders and visitors under the age of 18.
