The Senses School for the Care and Shelter of People with Special Needs in Dubai marked Emirati Women’s Day with a celebratory event that honored the significant contributions of Emirati women across various sectors. The annual observance, held on August 28th, recognizes the vital role women play in the development of the nation.
Established in 2004, The Senses School is a pioneering institution dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals with special needs. The center offers a wide range of services, including healthcare, psychological support, social rehabilitation, and vocational training, all aimed at empowering individuals and facilitating their integration into society.
Emirati Women’s Day is an important national occasion that highlights the achievements of Emirati women, which have been made possible through the steadfast support of the country’s leadership. Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, affectionately known as the “Mother of the Nation,” has been a driving force in empowering women and enhancing their status. This year’s celebration, themed “We Share for Tomorrow,” emphasized the importance of involving women in shaping a brighter future for the next generations. In her keynote address, Dr. Nadia Khalil Al-Sayegh, General Manager of The Senses School, emphasized the pivotal role that women play in the UAE’s development. Dr. Nadia expressed her appreciation for the leadership’s dedication to providing women with opportunities to contribute effectively to society.
Dr. Nadia also highlighted the significant contributions of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. She emphasized that the leadership’s vision, inspired by the founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, extends beyond empowering women to include their roles in driving social and economic transformation.
