The global technological and educational project in the UAE joins hands with HP Group’s prestigious gaming products company.
Dubai, 14 March 2023: Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports, the world’s premiere esports competition for university students has joined forces with HP OMEN. The collaboration will enhance competitors’ gaming experience with the latest technologies and performance in PC gaming, supporting the university educational technology project’s growth.
Since its launch in the UAE, Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports has seen huge growth in the number of players and teams, participating in university-organised competitions and events, becoming one of the leading players in esports in the region. The project is being developed in 16 countries on 4 continents and is hosted in the region by MENA Tech Entertainment (a company of GGTech Entertainment).
HP OMEN offers a wide range of powerful gaming hardware and software created for gamers everywhere to play anywhere and delivers elevated and personalised gaming experiences for all.
Recently, the popularity of gaming culture has grown significantly in the UAE, evidenced by the numerous e-sports events hosted in the country. Research by Statista revealed that the UAE has the highest percentage of adult gamers — nine in ten adults play video games. In Statista’s survey, 23% of respondents were frequent gamers, playing for at least 11 hours a week. It is estimated that the gaming market in the MENA region will experience a 19% growth rate and exceed $5 billion by 2025.
