Sharjah, United Arab Emirates — His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Finance Department (SFD), witnessed the honouring ceremony for the winners of the fifth round of the distinguished Financial Performance Excellence Award, organized by the SFD to promote a culture of excellence in government financial performance. The awards follow the requirements of the Sharjah government in developing the financial system and honouring distinguished institutions and individuals within finance in governmental, independent, and Emiri agencies and trainees for their efforts in improving resource management and preserving public funds.
The ceremony, which was held at the Al Qasimi University Theatre in the University City of Sharjah, honoured 16 governmental and independent agencies, in addition to 20 winners in the individual categories. It was attended by His Excellency Waleed Al Sayegh, Director General of SFD, Nasser Abdulaziz Kashwani, Secretary General of the Award, members of the Award’s General Secretariat, and Dr Awad Al Khalaf, Acting Director of Al Qasimia University (AQU), in addition to partner representatives, official sponsors, and winners for the individual and institutional categories.
His Excellency Waleed Al Sayegh, Director General of the Sharjah Finance Department, said: “The Financial Performance Excellence Award falls within the plans and initiatives of the Sharjah Finance Department in translating its strategic vision of achieving financial leadership towards globalization. It aligns with the wise visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah – may God protect him – in making every effort and mobilizing all capabilities and resources to provide sound foundations for building a stable and prosperous society, with future generations participating in shaping the future.”
He pointed out that the award is one of the essential foundations for building a promising and distinguished community within the financial affairs sector, ensuring an Emirate of excellence, creativity, and diversity.
His Excellency added that previous awards ceremonies were inspired by the deeds of the leader and father, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, as a beacon and title for its great goals, starting from His Highness’s relationship with the late founder Sheikh Zayed in the early emergence of the federal state, all the way to the comprehensive cultural, economic, social and scientific renaissance in the Emirate of Sharjah today.

The ceremony commenced with the sponsor attending the film (Sultan… The Pen and the History), which proudly documents His Highness’s outstanding efforts and achievements, and the implementation of the General Secretariat of the Award in cooperation with the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority
