Swiss International School Dubai is celebrating its first official in-school graduation after two years of virtual graduations. The event took place on May 24.
The Al Jadaf school, which opened six years ago, will celebrate its third cohort of graduates completing school and heading off to university.
As Ruth Burke, Principal and CEO, explains, “Although this marks our third year of graduating classes, this year is a big one for us with families and our school community gathering on site to celebrate the achievements of our class of 2022! It’s a very memorable day for us all and are delighted to be able to give the Class of 2022 a special, memorable celebration. We are also thrilled to be able to welcome all our parents back onto campus.”
“We wish the Class of 2022 ‘bonne chance’ as they continue their education at some of the top universities around the world.”
The chance to welcome parents on-site, alongside students and staff, marks a significant moment in the school’s move transition towards a sense of normality post-pandemic. For some of the school boarder’s parents, this is an even more significant occasion – the first time they have been at the school and inside the boarding houses, in person, for two years.
The current cohort of Grade 12 graduates have extra reason to celebrate, having successfully experienced studying one of the world’s most challenging curriculums under the unique circumstances of the pandemic, and have secured university offers at leading universities in the UK, Canada, the US, the UK and Europe.
