Egypt, 11 May 2022: Rixos Hotels Egypt welcomes the recently signed agreement between Abu Dhabi Ports Group and Egypt’s Red Sea Ports Authority to develop major port projects along Egypt’s coast.
The agreement, in association with the Red Sea Ports Authority and the Egyptian Group for Multipurpose Terminals Company, allows AD Ports Group to develop, operate, and manage multipurpose terminal cruise ships to dock at Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, and Safaga seaports.
Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt said in a press statement at the Arabian Travel Market exhibition in Dubai that the development plans for cruise ship lines to have a linking route along the coastlines of Abu Dhabi, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and Aqaba is a fruition of the ambitious and long-awaited projects to activate intra-Arab tourism through sea travel. The convenience and worthy experience this plan offers to tourists and travelers are highly-anticipated by the hospitality industry in the region.
He said, “We are pleased that the government of Abu Dhabi and Egypt has come into this agreement in an effort to boost international tourism and recover from the global halt brought by the pandemic. Aside from direct flights between countries, tourists are now offered with this alternative to visit outstanding destinations.”
Cruise ships sailing across the Gulf to the Red Sea expect to attract tourists from European, Asian, and other Arab countries with the route offering an experience itself and the destination known for rare coral reefs, mild weather, natural reserves, and luxurious resorts. “Egypt is covered with touristic attractions across Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada where Rixos Hotels Egypt’s famous properties are located.
