Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai-based home maintenance specialist Hitches & Glitches (H&G), will celebrate Ramadan this year, by offering free installation of Ring and NEST smart home gadgets that are bought from their online store.H&G retails and installs Ring’s smart home security products in residential communities throughout the UAE, providing convenient and effective solutions for security conscious homeowners and tenants.
The Ring products included are the Floodlight Cam, the first motion-activated security camera with two-way talk, built in floodlights and a siren and the award-winning Ring Video Doorbell 2, which allows homeowners to answer the door from anywhere, via a two-way voice call and one-way live streaming of any visitor, through their smartphone app or computer.
“We have also expanded our home maintenance offering with a new tech-enabled security service called ‘H&G Neighbourhood Watch’ and applies to H&G customers who have bought and installed the Ring Video Doorbell Elite,” said Kelvin Vargheese, Senior Director – TFM at H&G’s Parent Company Farnek.
If any homeowner notices any suspicious movement captured by the Ring camera, they will have the option to contact H&G, who will dispatch a security officer within 15-30 minutes to check on the property. After inspection, the customer is then sent a report with any relevant images.
Other Ring products covered under the promotion include the Spotlight Cam Battery powered and wired HD camera with two-way talk and siren solution.
H&G is also offering free installation on its NEST products. This third-generation thermostat is at the very cutting edge of smart home technology and one of the most innovative products currently on the market. The Nest learning thermostat ultimately helps save energy and money by recording the optimum temperatures of the home and readjusting automatically.
The unique technology allows the user to connect the thermostat to Wi-Fi and to change the temperature from a phone, tablet or laptop, no matter where they are. It recognises when the home is empty and reduces the energy output to avoid cooling an empty home. It also monitors the weather to make the relevant adjustments to indoor temperature.
“The thermostat has the ability to act as a first line of defence against fire, if the home gets dangerously hot an alert is sent to the synched phone or tablet, alerting the user to the potential danger,” added Vargheese.
The latest design of the Nest Learning Thermostat features new rings, a larger, sharper display, while recognising when someone enters the room and displays the time, temperature and weather. The device also produces a report outlining when energy was used and how best to avoid excessive use.
Other promotional offers include 10 percent discount on one-time air conditioning services carried out before the summer months set in and 10 percent discount on water tank cleaning and or duct cleaning. H&G’s customers with existing annual contracts will also receive an extra 5 percent discount on swimming pool maintenance.
