Mexican singer and composer Carlos Macias charmed crowds at Expo 2020 Dubai this evening (28 January), with his impressive vocal range and big smile.
Known for his bolero and contemporary ballads, Macias’ performance provided an hour of relaxation for audiences who had been busy visiting pavilions, with songs reminiscent of lazy afternoons at the beach.
The crowd at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre were kept impressed with his ability to hold the final note of each song, leaning forward to squeeze out his last breath, and provide an extra second of unwavering sound.
Accompanied by his band, Macias upped the tempo at times, and got everyone clapping along with songs such as Con Esa Boquita.
The four-time Latin Grammy nominee paused only to chat to the audience in Spanish, and give away CDs and his hat – but kept firm hold of his poncho.
