DUBAI, 14 January 2022 – Expo 2020 visitors were treated to entrancing rhythms at the Jubilee Stage as Portugal celebrated its National Day with a music and multimedia show named, ‘Al Qantara’, which showcased Portuguese cultural influences in the world.
An original song, ‘Al Qantara’, which means ‘Bridge’ in Arabic, premiered at the concert. It was composed by Teresa Salgueiro, one of the biggest names on Portugal’s entertainment scene, who performed several other numbers.
She was joined by Marta Pereira da Costa on the Portuguese guitar, the country’s only female professional guitar player.
Also in the ensemble was musician and producer Fred Ferreira, guitarist António Chainho and the traditional percussion group, Retimbrar.
