Etisalat’s Senior Vice President of Business Transformation, Maha Muraish:
DUBAI, 6 January 2022 – As one of the world’s most connected sites, with its 5G network, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) capabilities, Expo 2020 Dubai is reshaping customer experience, said Maha Muraish, Senior Vice President, Business Transformation, B2B & Etisalat Digital, Etisalat during a daily media briefing at Expo Media Centre on Thursday.
Maha Muraish said: “We have the capacity to be able to visit Expo’s pavilions virtually and see exactly what they are producing and what they are offering while relaxing at home. With 5G connectivity and all of the applications that you can build on top of it, from AR to VR, the customer experience is being shaped in a way that has not been seen before – it is becoming more interactive. And because of that, you will start to see a boom in that industry because now we are giving customers the capacity to be able to experience things even before they travel.”
With the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating the need for better connectivity for businesses and the home, Maha Muraish underlined the significance of 5G around the world: “In terms of the global economy, there will be millions and millions of new jobs because 5G connectivity is going to be bringing a lot of futuristic services and a lot of applications that will help us, whether it’s from a smart city perspective, reshaping the health environment, health services or industries, including education – all of these innovations are being brought about by 5G connectivity.”
Maha Muraish was discussing Etisalat’s role as Expo 2020’s Official Telecommunications and Digital Services Premier Partner ahead of Expo 2020 Dubai’s hybrid Travel and Connectivity Week (9–15 January), which will convene leading industry figures, innovators and policymakers around digitalisation and connectivity as a universal human right and a force for good in a changed world.
